Diving SA Judges Workshop

Have you ever watched a diving competition and wondered how the judges decide on their scores? Now's your chance to find out!

Diving South Australia is hosting aJudges Workshop for anyone interested in learning about diving officiating and becoming an accredited diving judge.

📅 Date: Saturday, 8 August 2026
📍 Location: SASI Board Room, SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre (SAALC)

The workshop is open to members and non-members aged 14 years and over who are interested in officiating at Diving SA competitions and events.

While the course is free of charge, participant numbers are limited. As places are subsidised by Diving SA, participants are expected to make themselves available to officiate at Diving SA competitions throughout 2026.

What will you learn?

The workshop will cover a range of judging and officiating topics, including:

  • Dive numbers and terminology
  • The components of a dive
  • The diving judging scale and how to apply it
  • Refereeing
  • Diving rules and regulations
  • Video judging
  • Competition procedures
  • And much more!

The workshop will run for approximately five hours and will conclude with the Diving Australia Judging Examination.

Successful participants will gain a Diving Australia judging accreditation, allowing them to officiate at State-level competitions and potentially progress to National and International events.

  • Course materials will be provided.
  • Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
  • The workshop will be held in the SASI Board Room at SAALC, located down the corridor behind the 50m Competition Pool.
