POLICY STATEMENT

OUR COMMITMENT

Diving South Australia is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Coaches and trainers will be encouraged to develop good leadership and communications skills, and a good understanding of issues such as harassment and bullying.
Diving South Australia will encourage participation and skill development that will not only enhance sporting participation, but also enhance life skills.

AIMS

• To raise young people’s awareness about mental health and their own role in managing it.
• To encourage young people to take a positive attitude to managing their own mental health.
• To promote the “Headroom” website as a resource for young people, and for those who work with them.

THE DIVING SOUTH AUSTRALIA BOARD WILL:

• Have a nominated person as Positive Minds Attract liaison officer.
• Ensure liaison officer will attend an education / training session offered on the Positive Minds Attracts campaign.
• Provide all coaches with a copy of the information sheet.
  “Positive Minds Attract - What’s The Message About?”
• Provide all members with the information sheet upon registration.
• Strategically place appropriate signage during events.
• Promote the message in the Diving South Australia newsletter.
• Hyperlink from Diving South Australia website to the project website.
